We may have already passed the point where concrete outweighs the combined carbon mass of every tree, bush, and shrub on earth. This manmade material suffocates fertile soil, choking habitats and destroying natural infrastructure without replacing the ecological functions that biodiversity depends on. co[MERGE]nt is a composite organism that could be described as an artificial lichen, harnessing lichens bio-remedial capacity for biological weathering to transform concrete waste into nutrients for soil remediation.
